Game Trail: Browns Stadium as a training camp

Posted  by Ed Morrison.

An MM reader speculates that the construction of Browns Stadium set the the current civic leadership in the county off on the wrong path:

It would seem that the current cabal may have cut its teeth, both strategically and tactically, on the Cleveland Browns Stadium project, whose cost (and to whom the costs were paid) have never come to light. Mike White was in the driver's seat then, but the private-sector enablers are amazingly the same: Fred Nance, Joe Roman (then head of Cleveland Tomorrow), Dennis Roche (Treasurer for the Stadium campaign issue, then #2 at The Growth Association, now running Positively Cleveland)...While they've done their best to leave no prints, you'll find these guys in the thick of nearly every attempt to divert public resources to private interests ovet the past decade-plus...together with Everyone's Favorite Developers, the Forest City [group], who also brought you 2006's statewide casino ballot issue, on which Mr. Roman spent 50% of his time...

You can add to this line of inquiry in the Browns Stadium Forum here.
